A dress for summer

If we ever do get a summer I now have a super dress to wear.
I used the same pattern as the one I made for Jessica last year
The material is a linen mix Tencel which has a lovely feel and drape without the terrible creasing of pure linen.
The colour is a golden mustard not as bright as a yellow a little bit more muted
If I make this again I will change the pocket placing
My arms are not quite as long as the pattern suggests!
This is an easy make with a feature front bodice V cut on the bias. The only tricky part is all the top stitching and getting the V to live up perfectly
Not difficult but needs patience
The oversized pocket has a loose pleated base and decorative button

Hoodie fun

I bought some wonderful jersey from Dots n Stripes at one of Nicole's live events.
The jersey panels and matching print were bundled with a glorious gold jersey.
I used two panels for a hoodie for Joel and lined the hood with the gold.
I have another panel left and enough spare to make a t shirt.
I love the gaming theme.

A spring cardigan for me

This simple long line cardigan looks great in clean bright stripes

I made some buttons to match

Knitting for my man

This is a hand knitted fisherman's rib jumper for Mike

It's very warm and he looks great in it

New clothes for Joel

I love making hoodies for my grandson

This is the pattern I use

A lightweight top for spring

A beautiful winter print for Christmas

A birthday vest

Kathy and I often travel to craft shows

We saw this amazing fabric on Dots n Stripes stand in Manchester and Kath asked if I could make her a waistcoat

This is the result

A summer dressfor Jess

My daughter travels to warmer climes whenever she gets the chance. Sadly she can't at the moment but that doesn't mean she can't dream

I made her this dress in cool cotton for her next trip

It's quite straightforward and has top stitching as a feature on the bodice

gathering on the pockets adds a little feature

Lockdown crafting

I've been pottering around during lockdown making a variety of things. Here are a few images of my makes over the last few months

A simple but warm cardigan for my grandson when he visits

A hat, scarf and gloves as requested by my grandson. He even drew me a picture of the colour sequence

A waistcoat in aran weight which has been nabbed by my purple loving daughter#2!

A scarf/mini shawl for my best friend. I random dyed the yarn in denim blues requested and incorporated a seed bead on each point. This is a version of the hitchhiker's shawl
